Karen's Quilt

Karen is a friend who asked me to make a quilt from a combination of her shirts and her first husband's shirts. She lost him a few years ago and is remarried but wanted to do something to preserve the memory of their time together in high school and college.

To make things worse, she just lost a ton of stuff from their time together because their storage unit in Hoboken completely flooded when Sandy came to town. Naturally, I was happy to take on this project!

The key to this quilt was that Princess Leia needed to be featured prominently. I think I accomplished that.

To order a T-Shirt Quilt or for info on pricing, email me at kate@quiltsbykate.net.

Each square usually measures approximately 12".

Children's T-Shirts will differ.

Small, Medium, Large, Extra-large, XXL and XXXL are all acceptable.

You provide the T-Shirts, I provide the fleece and finished product. All quilts by kate are made by hand!

I use 100% cotton thread and a backstitch in the composition of the quilt itself, and special quilting thread for the detailed work.

Each T-Shirt Quilt takes between three-four weeks from start to finish. Quilts needed in less than four weeks are subject to a "Rush" fee.

Please note: Once the T-Shirts have been assembled into a quilt, they will no longer be usable as T-Shirts.
